Work Experience
Currently I am working for The Hartford. I am a graphic designer in the marketing department for The Hartford's US Wealth Management division. This position requires both creativity and the ability to consistently represent the brand in the material we produce. Additionally, this position involves a lot of team work and working with others from various parts of the company.
Previously, I worked for The Creative Group, a specialized temping agency in the Philadelphia area, that focuses on placing people into creative positions. During my time with The Creative Group, I had a number of assignments at different organizations. During most of my time, I was placed at GCom2 Solutions, a commercial digital printer. I did graphic design and prepress work for GCom and learned extensively about pre-press procedures for both digital and offset printing.
Prior to The Creative Group, I worked for Manpower Professional on a long term contract at Giant Foods corporate office in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I worked in the Advertising Department as a Production Operator. This position was very fast paced with daily deadlines that had to be met. Every week the store's flyers needed to be sent to the printer on time. Multi-tasking and being highly organized was not only expected, but was necessary to get the job done.
Additionally, I worked as a part time graphic designer at Messiah College in the Office of Publications. This position required a lot of organization and planning to make sure the various jobs I was assigned were given proper attention and delivered on time. While working at Messiah I learned the value of appropriate planning, organization and good communication skills while working with a client.
About My Photography
In my photography I look for the everyday objects which most people would overlook or pass by. I am often drawn to ordinary objects by the light cast on them and shadows they create. It is the contrasting light and shadows that transforms these ordinary objects into something beautiful. As you view my photographs, I hope you find enjoyment in the simplicity of the subjects of my work for what they are: objects which might not be glorious to anyone else, but when they are brought into the right light, they are transformed into something wonderful. Through my photography, I hope other people will find enjoyment in our everyday surroundings, and see what I have found to be beautiful.
